From feeling stuck to FINDING FREDOM!
After dropping out of college for the 3rd time, I took a job working for General Motors. I was working in a factory on the lines, making good money with great benefits, but I was miserable. I would literally cry on the drive to work some days dreading going in. I was working swing shifts, midnights, mandatory overtime. I couldn't get days off because I was low seniority, and the monotony of the job was killing me.
After working for GM for 6 years, I left to "find my happy". I went back to school, got my esthetics, nail tech and massage therapy licenses and ended up working in a spa specializing in brows and Brazilians.
When I left GM, I had no clue what I wanted to do, but I craved FREEDOM! I didn't want to worry about money anymore. I needed to do something I LOVED. I wanted flexibility, room for growth, to be able to use my creativity and a little appreciation here and there.
I was $40k in debt and didn't know what I wanted to do. What I did know is that I didn't want to go back to school for 4 more years, I was nervous about starting all over with a new career in my 30's, and I didn't love working FOR someone.
In the spring of 2012, after doing some P90X and TurboFire workouts, I found out about the coaching opportunity and signed up right away. I initially did it for the discount, then to earn some extra money for travel and to pay off debt, and then I decoded to go for it and make it my full time job.
I've now been a full time Beachbody coach since 2013. That debt is gone. I have FREEDOM! I'm now my own boss. I get to work from home (or anywhere, really!), I make my own hours, I set my own schedule, I travel, I have tons of flexibility now. And I've also met some of the most amazing women because of coaching, some of who have become lifelong friends!
Since then, it's become my passion to help women not only with their fitness and nutrition, but also to build their own businesses around becoming a coach.
