This one may blow your mind 🤯 How often have you been told fasted workouts are the quickest way to burn fat? Especially fasted cardio? This is another great example of “what works for MEN doesn’t always work for WOMEN”. Intermittent fasting (and keto) cause a disruption in a specific neuropeptide that triggers an increase in our appetite, and also a decrease in our sensitivity to insulin, causing glucose intolerance. The kicker is, women are much more sensitive to this than men. When women add exercise on top of fasting it increases our cortisol levels and depresses our thyroid activity. The result? 🩸 disrupted menstrual cycle 😬 higher anxiety & stress 👎🏼 decreased performance ⚠️ weight gain and stored belly fat Pretty much everything you were trying to avoid from the start! The good news is that’s an easy fix! ✅ Eat something small before working out (15-20g of protein is ideal) 🤍 superfoods shake 🤍 protein waffle with some almond butter 🤍 BeachBar with almond butter 🤍 avocado toast with an egg Have you been guilty of doing your workouts fasted?
